What are the health conditions that I need to disclose when making an appointment or come in to see you guys ?

Please inform us if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Have consumed or applied Accutane, Roaccutane, Retin A, Vitamin B or AHA within the past 6 months.
  • Have sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated or broken skin or any open wounds on treatment area.
  • Have sores, warts, ulcers, moles, birthmarks or any tattoo on treatment area.
  • Recent STDs or undergoing treatment for such.
  • Had Radiation treatment (e.g.: UV Sun tanning), electrolysis or excess sunbathing within the past 6 months.
  • Had excess sunbathing within the past week
  • Had a surgical procedure in the past months
  • Have your period
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Gave birth by natural delivery in the past 3 months, or had a caesarian delivery in the last 6 months
What if I have a really low pain tolerance, should I take panadol or neurofen ?

It’s up to you really, we aren't in the business of recommending drugs and you should always be aware of their side effects.

From what guys have told us they do notice a difference if they haven't taken their neurofen 30 - 40 minutes prior their appointment. Others prefer the stoic principle and just grit their teeth.

Taking neurofen, panadol or aspirin 30 to 45 minutes before your appointment can have a significant difference for some people as other than being pain killers, they're also anti-inflamatory.

Do I have to be naked ?

So many of our services require some level of nudity and your comfortability with nudity is a personal and important. We see naked bodies EVERY day ALL day so for us we don't see the obvious. Most of our services require some level of nudity and your comfort level is very important to us. Whilst some of you are very much the naturist, others are a bit more modest and like to be wrapped up in several towels.

We do our best to make you feel comfortable and put you at ease so please don't feel embarrassed. Only the area being treated needs to be uncovered and we practice professional draping techniques. Due to the nature of hygiene waxing and leg placement we require you to be naked from the waist down.

WE won't be asking you to throw your legs up behind your ears, or to get on your hands and knees on our table, but wearing a jockstrap we have found is the best type of underwear for when you are receiving hygienic treatments. ... which brings us to our next FAQ

What if I get an erection during a treatment ?

It's hard to disengage your second brain when it senses touch, but shortly thereafter it will also sense hot wax and if that doesn't distract it, then there's also the sensation of the wax being ripped off .... that generally puts it hiding in the dog house.

Erections, as you know, can happen at any time and is not suggestive that you are 'excited' or 'turned on'. Anxiety or the fact that you may be 'scared' could be the cause. You may be on some medications that thin the blood and so indirectly  has caused an erection to develop but they generally go away once the process has started, and if not *shrugging of shoulders* well we just carry on and after a while of ignoring it, they go.

It's not an uncommon thing to happen, and as I said, we will continue on as long as your behaviour or language is not inappropriate. Our service is meticulous, exceptionally professional and high quality in service, nothing more and nothing less.

I'm nervous, unsure or concerned, can my mate/partner/wife come in to the appointment with me ?

We understand and appreciate your concerns, if it makes you feel more comfortable then sure, but they will be in the treatment room with you. Depending on the treatment, service or procedure you are having, you will also need to be comfortable with being in various stages of nudity in front of them too.

The Body Barber™ is a professional clinic and does not tolerate any anti-social,  unprofessional behaviour or language and have no hesitation in asking people to leave. We will charge the full service fee as if it has been completed in full and may refuse services in the future.

How important is it that I am on time for my appointment ?

Hmmm, how important is it that we don't rip you a new arsehole ?

On a more serious note, we value our client's time and attempt to stay on schedule whilst providing a meticulous service and complete experience when it comes to our appointments. Our days book out in advance and our evenings are booked weeks in ahead, we encourage you to book your next appointment on the completion and settlement of your current booking.

If you are running more than 5 - 10 minutes late we may have to reschedule your appointment. Yes it may sound strict or pretentious but, rather than thinking of yourself, think of the domino effect it may have on others. Not everyone has time to play with and asking them to come in later due to us running behind schedule may force them to cancel or reschedule their own appointment that they've organised their day around.

What is your cancellation policy ?

Our cancellation policies are covered on our Cancellation Policy page.

Planning ahead:  (noun + adverb) ( planɪŋ /Ə’hƐd )

You need to get off your arse, get your shit together and book your appointments NOW, or else risk missing out, pretty simple really

Be warned !! If you send a text “can I have a wax?”, my answer will probably be “I don’t know, ask your mother”, think about it ! I need as much information as possible to be able to answer your enquiries.

Please ensure your
initial text includes the following:

Tue - Sat 10:00 till 20:00 (I'm a 24hr guy) Sun/Mon CLOSED

If you call and I don’t answer, I’m busy devoting my expertise to a client and so don’t interrupt their service which, if you’re here as a client, you would appreciate.

Last thing, I DO book out several days in advance so if asking “what are you doing tomorrow?” I may just say “unfortunately, not you”..… and remember to laugh, life’s short.
